The following events occurred in March 1910: ==March 1, 1910 (Tuesday)== *The deadliest avalanche in American history killed 96 people, mostly railroad passengers who had been stranded by snow since February 24. Two different Great Northern Railway trains, on their way from Spokane to Seattle, had been halted at Stevens Pass by heavy snowfall.
